Today's photo challenge was to take a picture of something you wore today. I chose to take a picture of the two bracelets I wear on my left wrist everyday, whether they match what I am wearing or not. These are two things very important to me, but for very different reasons.
The red one with the metal disc is for Kony2012. I have a cousin and a niece who have done great work with this organization. I know there is some bad press surrounding Kony2012, but I stand firm in my support. I believe they have the right idea, and am impressed at how much the younger generation has come together and rallied for a cause they believe in. I will wear this all year until Joseph Kony is brought to justice. Here is the website, where you can find lots of info, pictures, and videos: http://www.kony2012.com/
The purple wristband is for Lupus awareness. Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body. I wear this to bring awareness to the disease and to support my mom, who has Lupus. If you would like to learn more, here is a good website: http://www.lupus.org/newsite/index.html. May is also Lupus awareness month, so learn about it and share with some one. I love you mom!
